Supporting Hancock and Surrounding Counties
What We Do:
The sole mission of the Clothe-A-Child organization is to provide clothing for underprivileged children primarily located in Northwest Ohio. Local children are identified by Open Arms Domestic Violence Center, Hope House, local school districts or Clothe-A-Child volunteers. Once identified, each child is assigned to a Clothe-A-Child volunteer who provides the opportunity to select and purchase clothing from local department stores. See Clothe-A-Child featured in the Findlay Courier and the Findlay Family.
Brief History of Clothe-A-Child-Ohio:
This organization, active since 1992, began as a simple team building exercise for several Findlay MPC Brand Marketing employees. In the early years, the group clothed 25 children per year primarily at Christmas time. In recent years, Clothe-A-Child (CAC) has grown into a year-round community-wide clothing effort and the organization now fulfills the needs of approximately 500 children per year. Since inception, CAC has clothed over 4,000 underprivileged kids in and around Hancock County. Funding is provided by various fundraisers (20%) throughout the year as well as personal and corporate donations (80%). Know that 100% of CAC funds go to purchasing clothes as there are zero administrative costs within CAC.
